Recently changed-hands the pub is on the A6 towards the easterly end of the village. Although now painted white it was the 'red house' that gave the name to the adjacent road. Offers up to six real ales, many from micros, which are constantly changing and selected from SIBA member breweries. The contemporary interior has a separate dog room; water bowls and canine snacks available. A varied food menu is served (no food Mondays [except B/H] & Tuesdays); family friendly with child meals available. Short walk from Peak Forest Canal (bridge 26).
