Microbar opened 27th June 2019 by couple who own & run Jake’s Ale House in Romiley. 4 rotating cask ales & 8 real ciders from bag-in-a-box are complemented by an extensive range of bottled beers, 5 craft keg beers (2 German) & a wide selection of wines, fizz & gins. 20p off a pint for CAMRA Members, flights of real ale available (3 thirds of different ales). Good use is made of limited space via padded benches around the perimeter walls & dark wood tables & chairs, resulting in 30 being able to sit comfortably & a lay-out that inevitably encourages conversation. A huge mirror also creates a more spacious feel. The bar faces Hyde Chapel Gee Cross, just across the junction (Joel Lane) where the imposing Grapes Hotel is situated. Acoustic music Thursdays. No swearing, track-suits or baseball caps. Children welcome until 7pm. Dogs welcome if on a lead & off seats. On 206 & 207 bus routes.
